SHREVEPORT, LA - On Monday June 5, 2017, Blake Murray woke up in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 39. Services celebrating his life will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Open Range Fellowship Church in Greenwood, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Aaron. Burial will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. A Visitation for Blake will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
Blake was born on January 11, 1978 in Shreveport, LA. He graduated from Southwood High School in 1996. Blake worked for Southern Carlson, IATSE 298, and Star Productions. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball, and golf. He was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church and Open Range Fellowship. His daughters were the light of his world. He loved the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bonnie and Richard Blake, paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Bob Murray, and his aunt Margaret Holley.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Saban and Emsley Murray, Hanna and Haleigh Case; special friend, Robin McGill; mother, Glenda Osteen and husband George; father, Brett Murray and wife Kathy; sister, Carrie Sheppard and husband, Paul, brothers, Ryan Murray and Jason Tynes, and wife Paige; nephew, Abram Murray; nieces, Berkeley and Reagan Sheppard, Ella Claire Murray, Kenzie, Mac, Gracie, Payton, and Annaleigh Tynes.
Honoring Blake as pallbearers will be Matt Morris, Billy Gaston, Jason Tynes, Brian Holley, Steven Thornton, and Layton Holley. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ryan Murray, Noah Holley, and Abram Murray.
A memorial fund for his daughters has been set up at Ouachita Independent Bank.
