Blanton Marcom Ellis

A graveside service for Blanton Marcom Ellis, 87, will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Restland Cemetery, 593 Restland Cemetery Rd., Waskom, Texas. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Marcom was born on January 15, 1936 to John Rho Ellis and I.B. Ellis in Waskom, Texas and passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Marcom was a resident of Shreveport and a highly decorated officer in the United States Army with 20 years of dedicated service. Among his favorite hobbies were collecting guns, shooting skeet, and hunting.

Marcom is preceded in death by his parents, John Rho Ellis and I.B. Ellis, and his son, Mark G. Ellis. Left to cherish his memory is Loretta G. Ellis, mother of his three children; son, Patrick Ellis; daughter, Beverly Ellis Stark and husband, John L. Stark; grandchildren, Destin Gibson and husband, Austin Gibson, Matt Young, Quentin Moon and Gavin Stark, Taylor Ellis and Jilian Ellis; great-grandchildren, Ava Tanner, Braxton Young, Riverlee Young, and Waco Boyd; brother, John Rho Ellis, Jr. and wife, Barbara Ellis and their six children.

Honoring Marcom as pallbearers will be Tim Young, Wayne Ellis, Kirk Ellis, and Ric Ellis.

Marcom will be greatly missed but we will forever love and cherish his memory.
