Funeral services for Bobbie Pearson Stevens will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. at King's Corner Assembly of God Church in Sarepta, Louisiana with her family and Rev. Gladney Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Cemetery in Welcome, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Bobbie was born August 10, 1929 in Stamps, Arkansas and entered into rest April 8, 2016 in Athens, Texas. Bobbie was loved by many, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading her Bible everyday and she lived to tell others about Jesus and the One who comforted her through many dark days, the Holy Spirit. She was eager to help and has cooked countless meals through the years, making folks glad to see her come through the door with her fried chicken or dumplings, or buttermilk biscuits. She was known for making things more beautiful than how she found them. She was generous and kind and fun. Her heart was filled with faith, her home with family, and her yard with flowers, especially her mama's favorite snapdragons. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy lives on in those of us who come after. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents and nine of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband Orvil Stevens of Athens, Texas, sons Wayne McCann and wife Dee Ann of Chandler, Texas, Rickey Lynn McCann of Haughton, daughter Sandra Joyce Hathaway and husband Ed of Panama City, Florida, sister Glenda McCann of Colleyville, Texas, brother Truman Pearson of Sarepta, eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
