Bobby Vernon Deaton

Funeral services for Bobby Vernon Deaton, 86, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Keatchie, LA with Brother Charles Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Bobby was born September 25, 1931 in Jackson, TN and went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated Deaton's Grocery for 37 years. He was a kind and generous soul who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Geneva Deaton and brothers, James Deaton and Donald Deaton. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vivian Deaton; daughter, Lisa Whittington and husband Paul; son, Bo Deaton and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Christy Smith, Holly Costanza, Hailey Deaton, Luke Deaton, Hunter Bradford, and Justin Jowers; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Deaton; special niece, Judy Wiggins; special nephew, Jerrald Deaton; and numerous family and friends. Honoring Bobby as pallbearers will be Jerrald Deaton, Jay Deaton, Jeffrey Tyler, Jeremy Castleman, Justin Castleman, and Mike Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Whittington and Jim Kelly. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church. The family would like to give a special thanks to Lasonya and Chenita at Amedisys Hospice.
