Bobby Edwards, Jr

Bobby was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and the effects of this disease took his life on August 26, 2016. Despite the many struggles and difficulties he endured due to Muscular Dystrophy, Bobby lived a life of purpose and was an inspiration to his friends and family. Bobby served the Muscular Dystrophy Association as the local and State of Louisiana Goodwill Ambassador in 1976.

Bobby is survived by parents, Robert Carradine Edwards and Doris Edwards, sister Robin Edwards Beck and husband Mark Beck, nieces Shawna Bates, Ruth Ann Bates, Shannon Stillwell and husband Ryan Stillwell, nephews Benjamin BJ Sparks and Taylor Guyton and numerous relatives and friends.

Bobby was a 1984 graduate of Parkway High School, received his BA in Psychology from University of Massachusetts and was pursuing his Masters in Child Development at the time of his passing.

Bobby accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior as a child and lived his life in a manner that reflected this decision. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA.

Bobby will be sadly missed as we go about our daily lives. We will miss his brilliant mind, his wit, the gift he shared with us through his writings, perspective and opinions. Though he is no longer here with us, and we grieve his loss so heavily, his memory and our love for him remain.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Sorrell pastor of the church officiating. Interment to follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, Bossier City. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 30th from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that donations be made to Cure Duchenne or Muscular Dystrophy Association.

We rejoice knowing he is forever residing in the presence of the Lord. He is now free and no longer bound by the struggles of this life.
