Bobby John King

Funeral services for Bobby John King, 80, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Brother Darrel Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery in Keithville. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at the funeral home. Bobby was born January 1, 1938 in Ola, AR to Johney and Bertha King and passed away on March 28, 2018 in Keithville. He worked at IBM and retired from Lucent Technologies. He was an avid outdoorsman and a master gardener. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where he was very actively involved for several years. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 40 years, Billie Jean King; and sister, Ella-Corrine Reed. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Karen Theriot King; son, John King and wife Sondra; daughter, Melody Geedy and husband William; grandchildren, Chase King, Callie King, Kasey Powers and wife Heather, Jeremy Geedy, and Johnathon Geedy and wife, Hannah; great-grandchildren, Makinse Powers, Lynlee Powers, and Annalise Geedy; and siblings, Marie Simon, Violet Graham, Shannon King, Velma Lund, Willma Frost, Lavelle King, and Carolyn Langley. Pallbearers will be William Geedy, Jeremy Geedy, Kasey Powers, Johnathon Geedy, Chase King, and Shane Drury. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday school class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church.
