Bobby Sylvester Matthews

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Bobby Sylvester Matthews, 93, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, Louisiana with Rev. Wayne Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Bobby was born on April 21, 1927 in Logansport, Louisiana to Charlie and Mary Matthews. He entered into eternal rest on June 14, 2020 in Logansport, Louisiana. Bobby is preceded by his parents, Charlie and Mary Matthews; wife of 30 years, Rose Matthews; six brothers; three sisters; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Cook and Samantha Gale. Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Bobbie Darden and husband Chester of Keithville, LA, Patricia Anderson and husband Andy of Fairview Alpha, LA, Tammy Gray and husband Charles of Benton, LA, and Tina Matthews-Scoggins and husband Bill of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Jan Miller and husband Mitch of Keithville, LA, Exa Doss and husband Johnny of TX, and Virginia Young and husband Jim of Shreveport, LA; along with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Honoring Bobby as pallbearers will be Victor Gale, Jody Matthews, Mark Matthews, Tyler Cook, Will Hanna, and Dennis Matthews. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Michael Cook.
