Bobby Wayne McClung

Funeral services for Bobby Wayne McClung will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana. Officiating will be Bro. Mitch Goodwin. Interment will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Dubberly, Louisiana. The family will receive friends Monday at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Wayne was born September 15, 1942, in Gibsland, Louisiana and entered into rest April 27, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Wayne graduates from T.F. Riggs High School in St, Pierre, South Dakota in 1957 before serving his country as a U.S. Marine until he was honorably discharged in 1964. He worked for IBEW Local Union 995 in Baton Rouge, LA for over 30 years as an electrician, then received a degree from ITT Technical Institute-Baton Rouge as a draftsman.

He was preceded in death by his parents John L. and Juanita Cook McClung; Son-in-law Ernest Lane; and daughter-in-law, Cynthia McClung.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Emmons McClung of Doyline; son, Robert  McClung of Pride, LA; daughters, Sabrina Lane of Bossier City, Tracy Lassiter of Doyline, and Toni Lynn McClung of Haughton; brother, Kenneth McClung Sr. of Doylne, sister, Annette Thomas and husband Jim of Dubberly;  grandchildren, Christina Dodd and husband Peyton, Candace Philyaw, Brandon Riddle and wife Mendy, Kayla Riddle, Jeffery McClung and wife Kimberly, Krystal McClung, Jonathan McClung and wife Joy, Shelby Lynn and fiancé Kerry Smith, Victoria Godfrey and husband Sean, and Ricky Peters;  great-grandchildren, Gracee Dodd, Aubree Dodd, Cris (Amya) miller, Hailey Riddle, Damien Riddle, KynLeigh Horton, Jason (Lane) Horton, Matthew McClung, Carleigh McClung, Natalee McClung, and Sicilee McClung. . 

Pallbearers will be Jonathan McClung, Jeffery McClung, Peyton Dodd, Sean Godfrey, T.J. Horton, and Justin Beaudean. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth McClung Sr., Brandon Riddle, and Ricky Peters.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ted Warren, M>D> for the compassionate oversight of Wayne’s healthcare for many years and to the amazing staff at WK Pierremont for their comfort care at the end.
