Bobby R. Wilkerson

STONEWALL, LA - Bobby Roy Wilkerson was greeted by his Savior, Jesus Christ on April 2, 2016. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Salem Methodist Church Cemetery in Dubach, LA. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Bobby was born on September 29, 1942 in Hico, LA to Elbert and Eunice Elaine Wilkerson. He retired from the Caddo Parish School Board in 2005. Bobby loved hunting, fishing, and working in his yard, which is where he enjoyed spending time praying and singing to the Lord. Bobby was a devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfather. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Nelda Kay Baten Wilkerson; his daughter, Emily Wilson and husband, Laurence J. Wilson III; two precious grandchildren, Lia Wilson and Nathan Wilson; sisters, Louvonia Haynie and Nelda Grace Martin; brothers, Terry Wilkerson and his wife, Pennye, and Danny Wilkerson and his wife, Diana. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Honoring Bobby as pallbearers will be Jack Burford, Garrett Burford, Mike Taylor, Shane Taylor, Patrick Peele, Danny Roop, and Terry Walker. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Christus-Highland Hospital and Christus Hospice for all the care, support and love they gave to Bobby during the past few weeks.
