Bonita Faye Kennedy

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it's not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices in the truth.

This is the definition of love in the bible. Many of us strive to achieve this level and fall short daily. In fact, it almost seems an impossible task. Today, we celebrate the life of a woman who achieved this goal.

On Friday, September 22, 2023, Bonita Faye Kennedy “Nita” passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family. She lived to be 93 years old. Bonita was a mother to three children, whom she is survived by, David Kennedy and wife, Ronda, Don Kennedy and wife, Jody, and Cindy Greer and husband, Loftin; Grandchildren, Jesse Kennedy and wife, Marshia, Colton Kennedy, Ciarra Garland and husband, Jared, and Maura Greer; great-grandchildren Mason and Jaxson Kennedy, and Lexington Greer. She was preceded in death by her husband David Franklin Kennedy and grandson Logan Greer.

Bonita was a devout prayer warrior who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Northwood Baptist Church where she occasionally sang in the choir, helped with Awanas, and was an active participant in the women's ministry.

Bonita was best known for her fabulous voice, making delicious Coke floats, and being an adored oldest sister to eight siblings. Her infectious laughter and humor will go on to live in our hearts. She loved to go on adventures and travel to new places.

We will miss her, and tears will be shed, but one thing we can truly celebrate is this- There is no doubt that heaven rejoiced when welcoming her and hearing the lord tell her the words, she most deserved.
