SHREVEPORT, LA - Services celebrating the life of BrendaHorn Aldridge will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery, Logansport, LA. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to invite you to make donations to St. Jude's and Holy Angels. Brenda was born on May 24, 1953, in Mansfield, LA to Garland and Willie Horn, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband, John Reed Aldridge, Sr.; her sons and their wives, John Barclay and Angela Luttrell, and John Reed, Jr. and Laura Aldridge; her daughter Sarah Aldridge Clark, married to Wes Clark; grandchildren, Kristin and Sean Luttrell, Abigail, Jack and Peyton Aldridge, and Annabelle Clark. Also surviving Brenda are her siblings, Doris Mitchell, Roger Horn, Alton Horn and his wife, Rose, Gartha Elkins and her husband, Jim; nieces who were especially close to Brenda are Deborah Ebarb and her daughter, Melissa Ebarb; nephews, Steve and Rodney Horn, Mark Elkins, Justin Atkinson, and Michael Horn; nieces Kristin Poe, Marylin McLendon and Sierra Morgan. Special thanks to the nurses who cared for Brenda at Willis-Knighton Piermont, Dr. David Green, Dr. Lane Rosen, Dr. Maxwell McDonald, and Dr. Jahrul Islam. To all her friends and Chosen Family who have supported her and stood by the family for so long, your unwavering love will never be forgotten. Although she suffered with depression, Brenda received immense joy from helping friends and family with their problems while putting her own pain and suffering aside. Her selflessness is one of the many reasons so many people loved and cherished this amazing woman. Brenda worked for AT&T, The Shoe Dept., Holy Angels, and Caddo Parish School Board as a bus attendant for children with special needs. Honoring Brenda as pallbearers are John Curlin, Randy Hamm, Buddy Rawls, Mark Elkins, Jeff Carter, Daniel Pope, Stefan Curlin, Michael Horn and Justin Atkinson. The family would also like to recognize the following honorary pallbearers: Melissa Ebarb, Nikki Ford, Brandi Carter, Lauren Pope, Jenna Curlin, Danielle Normand, Jenny Haluska, Marissa Shephard, Chelsea Bourgeois. Doris Mitchell deserves special recognition for her selfless and tireless dedication to caring for Brenda at the end of her life. We will miss Brenda and the way her smile and laughter could always light up a room.
