Brenda Cannon Hensley Austin

SHREVEPORT, LA - Brenda Hensley Austin, 73, passed away to her heavenly home on August 9, 2015. Services celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel with Pastor Ricky McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Oil City, LA. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Rose-Neath. Brenda was born July 11, 1942 in Ashdown, Arkansas. She retired from Schumpert Medical Center after 21 years. Brenda was of the Baptist Faith and in retirement she enjoyed reading, fishing, and her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog Coco. She is preceded in death by husbands Tommy V. Hensley and Lloyd N. Austin; parents, D.C. Cannon and Dessie Wall; sister, Carmanel Barrett and sons, Mark , Joe and Dannie Hensley. Brenda is survived by sons, David (Georgie Ann), Pat (Karen), Michael Hensley and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Honoring Brenda as pallbearers are Casey Bell, Art Thomas, Billy Thomas, Sabrina Thomas, Ambra Hensley, and Zack Martin. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Willis-Knighton Bossier SICU nurses Jennifer, Mel, Claudia, Lauren, Lori, Daniel, and Tiffany and doctors SanPedro, Dr. Nathan, Dr. Lambert and all other staff for all their compassionate care.
