Brenda Johnston

Brenda Johnston, 70, was born January 11, 1951 in Elizabeth, Louisiana to Clifton and Lizzie Edwards and went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 30, 2021. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. If you knew Brenda, you fiercely loved her. Brenda enjoyed tending to her flowers and watching her hummingbirds and songbirds. Mimi, as she was known by her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking amazing dinners for her family and extended family. She was always there for anyone who needed her, with a servant's heart and without expecting anything in return. Brenda was a child of God and loved him faithfully. She is deeply missed but will be with us always. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Maria Elizabeth Johnston. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Donald Ray Johnston; sons, Donald A. Johnston and wife, Jennifer and Dwain Alan Johnston and wife, Katie; daughter, Heather Johnston Staffel and husband, David; brother, Kenneth Edwards and wife, Mildred; seven grandchildren, Seth Johnston, Daniel Johnston, Austin Staffel, Laine Staffel, Claire Johnston, James Johnston and Lexi Staffel. Honoring Brenda as pallbearers will be Donald A. Johnston, Dwain Johnston, David Staffel, Seth Johnston, Daniel Johnston and Tate Miller. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. A private Celebration of Life will be held for the family. Officiating will be Brother Jamison May.
