A Graveside Service in celebrating the Life of Brenda Vest will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, in Lake Providence, Louisiana.
Brenda was born in Oakdale, Louisiana on January 25, 1944. She lived in Bossier City, Louisiana with her daughter, Elizabeth Vest Figueroa, where she succumbed to her battle with myelodysplasia, on June 11, 2021, at the age of 77. She will be remembered for the happy times her daughters had with her as they were growing up going fishing with her and their daddy, Billy Vest. Other joyful times included jumping on the trampoline with her grandchildren. Also telling both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren about Jesus and showing his love to them and never missing their birthday parties.
The best thing about Brenda Vest was her love for Jesus Christ. Brenda was a strong Christian lady from a very early time in her life. She raised her daughters for Jesus Christ, always attending church with her husband and daughters every time the door was open. Her daughters will be lost without her but await to be reunited with her in glory with the Lord, Jesus Christ. She loved to share Jesus with strangers. Everywhere she went she would pull out her picture of Jesus that she kept in her wallet and ask strangers if they knew Jesus Christ as their Savior. She told many about eternal salvation.
She will surely be missed by all who knew her. We greatly anticipate joining her in heaven one day with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Vest; parents, Charles Homer and Hazel Pickles Melder; brothers, Charles Melder, and Mike Jerry Melder; sisters, Sally Melder, and Jo Ann Melder; nephew, Martin Melder; and her precious dearest friend, Ms. Ann Pig.
