Brian was born in 1971 in Fort Myers, Florida. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Margarette Chaffee; maternal grandfather, William Peters, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Beverly Ann Bishop and his paternal grandfather, W.A. Lambert.
Those loved ones left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 23 years, Michelle Ann Boudreaux Lambert; their three children, Garrett Edward Lambert, 20, Brock Boudreaux Lambert, 18, and Lake Charles Lambert, 16; his mother, Susan Peters Lambert; his father, Glen Edward Lambert and sister, Natalie Denese Lambert.
Brian was a graduate of Fort Myers High School in Fort Myers, Florida where he lettered in football and basketball. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame and still holds the record for the longest 99-yard touchdown. Brian went on to attend Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida and then he attended Northland Community College, located in Thief River Falls, Minnesota where he was also inducted into their Hall of Fame and was named an All-American for his football accomplishments. Brian completed his college career at Northeast Louisiana University (University Louisiana Monroe) where he played football and received All-Conference and All American punter.
He was in sales for 23 years in the local market. He was a dedicated husband and father to his three sons who were his everything. Many people knew Brian as \"Coach\" Lambert or \"Big Lam\". He started coaching his sons even before they were walking. Brian coached the Shreveport Dixie Baseball and travel ball Burn team for over seven years and won the world series championship in 2013 . Where there was a game, Brian was not far behind. He loved watching his boys play baseball and football and was always there to cheer them on to victory or hug them when defeat followed.
There wasn\'t anything that Brian would not do for his family. His infectious smile and charisma always drew everyone to him. He worked so hard to give them everything they needed but mostly what they wanted especially when it came to sports, only the best was good enough for them. Brian coached his three boys at Caddo Middle Magnet. Those years were some of his favorite times of his life, watching his boys excel on the football field. Brian coached year round for many years while always having at least one Lambert boy on the team. It was his greatest honor.
Brian was the love of Michelle\'s life. He was her protector, he made her laugh with his silly jokes and one-liners. He made sure she was well taken care of and told her he loved her every day. She will always remember him as her rock and a pillar strength. He is their guardian angel and will continue to protect his family from heaven.
Not only was he an incredible coach and father but he was also an affluent music teacher to his oldest son. Garrett remembers that his father taught him the love of great artists such as Motley Crue. As Garrett remembers, he was also the king of \"Dad\" jokes. The biggest thing Garrett learned from his father was his love for animals, specifically his dog \"Chief". \"My Dad and Chief were best friends, he would always say he has 4 kids and Chief is his favorite one.\" Garrett feels comfort in knowing his father and Chief are together again. One of the things that Garrett will cherish most about his father is that he could sit next him and not a say word and know everything would be ok.
Brock had a lot in common with his dad. He loved to teach him about sports and he wouldn\'t have wanted to learn from anyone else. He coached Brock in football and baseball from knee-high to high school. One of Brock\'s favorite memories of his dad was when he would take him and brothers to Six Flags and instead of riding rollercoasters, they would head to the basketball goals and never came home without a prize or a ton of basketballs. One of Brian\'s gifts to Brock was that he gave him his athletic ability and for that he is forever thankful.
Lake remembers his dad as the dad that pushed him to be the best in everything he did. Brian gave him and his mother everything he could. Some of Lake\'s sweetest memories of his dad come from the first day of school. His dad would always deck them out in the latest and best shoes and clothes. It was so special to Lake that even when he needed a cane to walk, Lake would look up at the stands from the sidelines and see him. He never missed one game of his first season. As a starter, he would tell him what he did well and what he needed to work on for the next game. No matter how sick Brian was, he was at every game and there to talk to him after and reminisce. One of his strongest traits that we will always remember of their dad was the gentle quietness he alluded. \"He was our gentle giant, our silent protector\".
Brian and his family are extremely grateful to the all the wonderful staff and doctors at Willis-Knighton Pierremont. Their deepest gratitude goes to Dr. Green, Dr. Little, Dr. Chu and Dr. McRight for all they did and their amazing care.
Lastly, the family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the outpouring love and support from all the wonderful friends and family that have embraced them through this time.
In closing, Garrett, Brock and Lake will forever remember their father as the role model and will miss him more than could be imagined.
"We know you are on the beach with Chief right now in Nike gear from head to toe. We will always miss you and love you forever," love your boys.
