MAGNOLIA, AR: Funeral services were held for Rev. Clyde D. Miles, 85, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street in Homer, LA on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Nelson, Sis. Linda Dean and Rev. Bruce Seger, officiating. Interment followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Jonesboro, LA. The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Rev. Miles was born September 11, 1931 to Clyde and Esther Reeves Miles of Dodson, LA. He entered into rest on Friday, November 25, 2016 in Texarkana, TX. Rev. Miles began his service in the ministry at the age of 17 in Coushatta, LA. He went on to pastor the Westlake Church of God for 18 years in Westlake, LA. He was currently the pastor of the First Church of God of Homer, LA for the past 20 years and served many other churches in Louisiana of his ministry. He attended LA Tech where he received his Bachelor's degree in education, Master's degree in counseling. Bro. Miles also attended Palmer's Chiropractic College in Davenport IA, graduated Summa Cum Laude. His peers gave him the "Guardian Angel" award, because he was so helpful to two students, one of which was deaf and another a foreign student. He was chaplain of his class. He practiced and retired as a chiropractor in Jonesboro, LA. Bro. Miles was a faithful servant of the Lord for 68 years and his expressions of love were felt by all he met. Rev. Miles was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 64 years, Nancy Marteal Alexander Miles. He is survived by 3 sisters, Florence Delean White of Atlanta, GA, Frances Ramsey and husband, Bruce of West Monroe, LA and Lois Johnston and husband, Kenneth of Natchez, MS; a brother, Douglas Miles and wife, Kathy of Dodson, LA; one very special niece and nephew, Sheila Ingram Clark and husband Charlie of Magnolia, AR who were his loving caregivers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Clifton Salmon of Homer, LA, Dr. Murphy and staff of Magnolia Regional Medical Center of Magnolia, AR, Dr. White, Dr. Echols and staff of the ICU of Christus St. Michael's of Texarkana, TX. Pallbearers were Darrell Avery, David Avery, Kelly Johnston, Gary Daniels, Ronnie Perry and George Dean, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Clark, Brent Daniels, Larry Dean, Clarence Edman and John Caskey. In lieu of flowers honoring Rev. Miles, his family suggests First Church of God of Homer, 181 Morris Circle, Homer, LA 71040 or Gideon International, PO Box 151, Homer, LA 71040.
