Buddy Owen

M.M. (Buddy) Owen, 92, of Shreveport, passed away on December 1, 2016 in Dallas TX. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery on Meriwether Road after the funeral service. Buddy was born in Jefferson, TX on July 28, 1924. He served his country proudly in the military. He worked and retired as a Conductor for Missouri Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed fishing, antiques, estate sales, and traveling but Buddy's greatest joy was his family and his grandchildren. Buddy is preceded in death by his wife Maurine Owen, his sisters Rachel, Nora, Orvinel, Ruth, brothers Bill Burney, and Ray Burney and his son James. Buddy is survived by his son Tim Owen; and daughter Sherry Powell; his grandchildren, Nikki Guest and her husband Emory Guest, Karmen Rose Acevedo and her husband Matt Acevedo, Greg Burney and his partner Thomas matter, Dustin Jordan and his wife Mindy Jordan and Lilly Copeland; his great grandchildren, Cole and Anderson Guest, Conner Loftin, Bentley Free, Emily Powell and Zachary Jordan; sisters, Jonnie-Faye, and Francis-Maude. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Gloria Burney Jordan and Arthur Jordan for loving Buddy and helping take such good care of him.
