Ralph was born May 21,1968 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Christus Highland Hospital surrounded by his family.
An avid sports fan, Ralph loved LSU sports and was an exceptional baseball player having received a scholarship to play upon his graduation from Southwood High School. Later in life he was known as one of the best softball second baseman in the area. On weekends you could always find him playing in various tournaments across Louisiana and Texas. He loved muscle cars and four-wheeling with family and friends. Those who knew him, knew of his belief in Big Foot and of his disappointment he was never able to find one. Ralph loved being in Colorado exploring nature and the mountains from his four-wheeler during his annual visits. His dream was to retire there.
Ralph dedicated his adult life to helping people. He was a respected member of the Shreveport Fire Department where he had the opportunity to spend thirty and a half years. He was exceptionally proud of having the privilege of serving with his brother, Kevin and his father, Buddy. During his time with the Shreveport Fire Department, he had the opportunity to assist countless members of the community as a paramedic and rose to the rank of Captain.
Preceding Ralph in death was his mother, Johnye Brocato Parker; paternal grandfather, Ralph E. Parker, Sr.; and maternal grandparents, John Brocato, Jr. and Thelma (Jamie) Louise Powell.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger Webb Parker; children, Cody Parker and wife, Molly, Lauren, Savannah, Brantley and Mason Parker and Madeline Webb; parents, Buddy and Karen Parker; sisters, Sabrina Smith and Dawn Moulder and husband, Keith; brothers, Kevin Parker, Paul Parker and wife, Jenny and Joel Smith; granddaughter, Kristina; grandmother, Dorothy (Dot) Parker; numerous nieces and nephews; honorary daughter, Madison Brian as well as his Shreveport Fire Department Family, especially Capt. Harold Johnson, Capt. Rebecca Hall Fire Engineer Matt Head, Battalion Chief Mike Perser, Fire Chief Scott Wolverton.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Christus Highland and the staff of the third floor for their exceptional compassion and care; Dr. Bob Massingill and his wife, Lisa for the kind words, professional care and encouragement and Dr. James Jackson for his many years caring for Ralph. Special thanks to all of the many friends who have sent prayers, provided support, and love, especially the staff of the Emergency Department at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. Last, but not least, the Shreveport Fire Department Family, words cannot express our gratitude for the support, encouragement, brotherhood, fundraising, parking lot tributes, and the escort to the funeral home. Ralph was proud and honored to serve with you.
