Carmen Castillo Swindoll, 90, of Ebarb, Louisiana entered into her Heavenly home on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Sabine Retirement in Many, Louisiana. She was born in Ebarb, Louisiana to Lucy (Procell) Castillo and Beto Castillo on January 14, 1933.
A visitation will be held for her at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 9891 Texas Highway, Many, LA 71449 on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. led by Mrs. Ione Durr. Her funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. also in the Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in St. Ann’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Ebarb, Louisiana.
Carmen was a devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother who was a loyal church parishioner! Her hobbies and interests included cooking, sewing, quilting, working in her yard, and spending time with family and friends; but her favorite hobby was playing BINGO and purchasing PULL TABS. She was a very free-hearted lady, she would give you the shirt off of her back or help anyone in need and that included total strangers. She had a heart as big as they come! She never met a stranger and was constantly cooking food (Tamales was her favorite to cook) or baking something sweet (Cakes or brownies) to donate to any function going on. She really was an Angel here on Earth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beto and Lucy (Procell) Castillo; her sisters, June Castillo, Theresa Henderson, and Gloria Crnkovic; her brothers, Joe Castillo, Louis Castillo, Alvis Castillo, Henry Castillo, Jessie Castillo, Alan Castillo, and Charles Castillo; and her husband of 65 years, Arry Lee Swindoll. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert Swindoll & his wife, Stephanie of Alexandria, LA and Richard Swindoll & his wife, Alliett of Noble, LA; her daughters, Carolyn Sepulvado & Tommy of Ebarb, LA, Donna Cobb & husband, Terry of Mansfield, LA, Deborah West of Zwolle, LA, Rhonda Pappehausen of Bossier City, LA, and Carla Gauthier of Many, LA; a special niece, Cheryl Crnkovic of Shreveport, LA; her sisters, Thelma Snell of Hornbeck, LA, Lurlene Roberts of Michigan, and Ann Roy of Haughton, LA; her brothers, Anthony Castillo & wife, Betty of Pineland, TX; and Francis Glen Castillo of Noble, LA; her 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
Serving her as pallbearers will be Terry Cobb, Jason Cobb, Jonathan Porter, Matt Lovelady, Colton Castillo, Andrew Castillo, Richard Swindoll, and Cameron Gauthier. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Meshell and Jeremy Cobb.
Immediately following the graveside burial food will be served in the St. Ann Catholic Church Hall and all are invited.
