Carol Brossette

Graveside services for Mary Carol Brossette, 79, will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park East, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Carol was born on September 14, 1945, to Kenneth Alverson Elston and Mary Francis Skinner Robertson in Woodward, Alabama and passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Carol was a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and attended LSU in Baton Rouge. She worked for over 25 years at Shreve Memorial Library and once retired, she turned her attention to traveling to her favorite city, New Orleans. Carol was an avid fan of LSU and wore anything purple and gold. She was a proud member of the Krewe of Centaur for 15 years. During her time in the Krewe, she developed many wonderful relationships that she cherished until her passing. She loved spending time with her family and was always ready to go “hang out” with the grandkids and their friends. She was known by friends of her grandkids as “Mimi” and not Mrs. Brossette. She was small in size but big in strength, fun and love. She left all those who knew her with fond memories that are filled with laughter and fun.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mary and sister, Anne Harpole and her husband, Jimmie L. Brossette. Left to cherish her memories are her son David E. Brossette; grandchildren, Jessica Hayes, Sarah Brossette, Caleb Brossette, Jacob Brossette; her great-grandchildren, Allison, Haylee, Jaxson, Madden and Cole Whitley and many wonderful friends.

The family would like to express a sincere appreciation to Dr. Chintapalli and her staff as well as to Christus Shumpert Hospice team that was so wonderful during her difficult journey.
