Carol A. Goodman

SHREVEPORT, LA - Carol A. Goodman, 70, passed away on January 15, 2018 after an eight year battle with Alzheimer's. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Agudath Achim Synagogue. Officiating will be Rabbi Dr. Jana L. De Benedetti and assisting will be Cantor Neil Schwartz. A private family graveside will be held prior to the memorial service. Carol was born on December 19, 1947 in Dallas, TX. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time gardening, reading, and being an active member in the local Jewish community. She dedicated her life to education, working for over 38 years as a gifted and talented teacher and administrator in Caddo Parish Schools. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Anne Gibson. Carol is survived by her loving husband Lawrence Goodman of Shreveport, LA; son, Jonathan A. Goodman of New Orleans, LA; daughter, Lauren H. Goodman of New Orleans, LA; sisters, Cindy Dodson and Christi Fuller of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Sara Goodman; brother-in-law, Jacob Goodman of Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Congregation Agudath Achim, 9401 Village Green Dr., Shreveport, LA 71115; Camp Young Judaea, 5410 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77401; Alzheimer's Association; or to the charity of donor's choice.
