Carol Jean McLaughlin was born April 3, 1956 in Amarillo, Texas, to father, Carol Wayne Haley and mother, Martha Marion Haley, and passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Carol served her community for many years working as a library clerk at Keithville Elementary and Middle School, a 4-H Coordinator, and as a member of the Louisiana Association of Educators and National Educator's Association. She will always be remembered for her dedication as an educator and her excitement for the Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team. Carol loved her family with all her heart, and always had a special connection with children, especially her students and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Left to cherish her memory is her life partner, Ronald Barnes; mother, Martha Haley; daughter, Jamie McLaughlin; son, Joshua McLaughlin and wife, Bobbie; grandchildren, Brooklyn McLaughlin and Josiah Nowlin; siblings, Teresa Bute and husband, Alan, Roger Haley and wife, Betty, and Tammy Lanier and husband, Chris; nieces, Holly Black and husband, Quinton, Elizabeth Haley and Sarah Haley; nephew, Matthew Loesch; great-nieces, Savannah, Madison and Abigail Black and great-nephew, "RJ" Xabrian Banks, Jr.
A memorial service honoring the life of Carol will be held at a later date.
