Converse, LA - Ms. Carolyn Sue Tolar Ashley, 73, passed away at her home in Converse, LA on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home - Mansfield Chapel on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 5p.m. - 9p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2016. Interment will follow at the Converse Cemetery. Carolyn was born in Lufkin, TX on August 2, 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Earl Ashley, her high school sweetheart, her mother Opal Lamar Payne, father James Elder Tolar, sons James Lamar Ashley and Stephen Mitchell Ashley. Carolyn is survived by one son, Norman Gene \"Bubba\" Ashley and Vassana of Converse, LA; one daughter, Melinda Sue Ashley Austin and Eric Heard, of Converse, LA. Carolyn has four grandchildren; Christopher and Cody Austin of Converse, LA and Elizabeth and Jack Ashley of League City, TX. She is also survived by one sister, Janice Ann Boller of Shreveport, LA, and a host of neices, nephews and cousins, whom she adored, and 3 special fur babies, Tigger, Zoey, and Callie, who never left her side. Pallbearers will be Christopher Austin, Cody Austin, Jack Ashley, Wayne Ashley, Ransom Ashley and Bro. Buck Furlow. Carolyn was an active member of the Red Hat Society and North Sabine Fire District. She also spent many years of making hundreds of prayer blankets for Hospice patients through the Ron Ashley Ministry. The family requests that memorials be made to the Caddo Bossier Cancer Foundation and League, St. Jude\'s or to the charity of the donor\'s choice. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Superior Hospice of Mansfield, and to the Willis Knighton Cancer Center in Shreveport, LA.
