Carolyn Eloise Moran Beaubouef was born November 17, 1929 and passed into glory on January 1, 2018. Carolyn was raised in Kingston, Louisiana, after her family moved back home from Illinois in 1939.
Carolyn attended Stonewall High School and LSU, majoring in costume design, at the strong urging of her parents. Missing her precious cattle back home in Kingston and knowing her God given gifts with animals, she persuaded her parents to allow her to change her major toAnimal Industry. She was the only female in the program at LSU at the time.
She married LeVernon Beaubouef on January 27, 1951, and after living in Alexandria, Louisiana, and Mobile, Alabama, they returned to Kingston where Carolyn continued her love of dairy farming. A friend once said that Carolyn forgot more than most people ever know about cattle. Her great love of all things furry has led to many of God\'s creatures finding refuge in the Beaubouef household, literally in the house. Many remember seeing Carolyn in her station wagon with her deer Bambi riding along.
Carolyn was a member of Mansfield Garden Club and always had beautiful flowers blooming around her home, every season. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Mansfield and an active volunteer at Schumpert Hospital for many years after she retired from dairy farming. Carolyn was generous in her support of St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital, Veterans, and children around the world through numerous ministries. She kept in touch with them through letters and photos over the years.
Following retirement from dairy farming, Carolyn raised beef cattle and traveled the world. She stepped foot on every continent while traveling with her beloved cousin, Diane Carlton. Stories of their adventures through Asia and Europe were quite entertaining. Carolyn always loved the Gulf Coast and decided to make it a second home in her later years. She would visit for extended periods of time with family and friends enjoying many good laughs.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Joe E. Moran and Carolyn Scott Moran, and her beloved nephew, Blake Toney. She is survived by her son, Joe Beaubouef and his wife, Tammy; daughter, Susan Beaubouef Quinn and husband, Jeff; brother, Scott Moran and his wife, Espe; seven grandchildren, Michael, Scott, Kara, Grace, twins Jana and Joe, and Maggie; niece, Penny Toney.
Our family would like to lovingly acknowledge Carolyn\'s long-time farm manager, Bobby Clark. Bobby has lived in Kingston and has grown up with Carolyn\'s children. He sees to anything and everything on the farm. Our family also wants to thank Rose Clark for all her special care and love provided during this journey. Michelle Fuller, Santangela Jones, and Sheila Clark were also very special care givers that made sunshine every day for Carolyn. The ladies would take her on adventures through the pastures, checking her cattle and visiting sites over North Louisiana.
Carolyn always said she lived a blessed life, and she enjoyed sharing her blessings with others. The stories she told, the lessons she taught, and the example of her life will live on through those of us who loved her so.
Honoring the life of Carolyn as pallbearers will be Michael Lloyd, Scott Lloyd, Joe Beaubouef, Bill Underhill, Talmadge Fogg, Jimmy Jones, and Jeff Quinn.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contribution to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or any veteran organization.
