Carolyn Faye Wright Underwood

Carolyn Faye Wright Underwood of Shreveport Louisiana passed away on January 8, 2023. Carolyn was born in El Dorado, Arkansas to Ruben and Robbie Wright on May 18, 1923. A private ceremony will be held for the family on January 14, 2023 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. 

Carolyn graduated from El Dorado High School. Along with her husband, Earl Underwood, Carolyn raised three wonderful daughters. She spoiled five grandchildren and three great grandchildren all while running several local business establishments: “Mr. Crows,” “Carolyn’s Tavern,” “Keynote,” and “My Place.” Carolyn was the definition of grace and compassion. She was always there with a helping hand, a warm smile, and a pleasant word for everyone. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In true southern fashion, she was a hoot!

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Underwood; and her daughter, Tonee McCutheon. Left to cherish her memory are daughters Teresa Riffey, Sandra Bennett and husband, Steve Bennett; grandchildren, Anthony and Heather Edwards, AJ and Kelly Edwards, Kate and Wesley Schaefer, David and Jessa Riffey, and Madison Bennett; as well as great- grandchildren, Tatum Edwards, Aiden Edwards, and Truitt Welborn.

Honoring Carolyn as pallbearers will be Anthony Edwards, AJ Edwards, Steve Bennett, Katherine Riffey Schaefer, and Madison Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana 71103.
