Funeral services were held for Carolyn "Ernie" Pixley Greene, 79, at the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Homer, La. on Sunday May 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. R.B. Moore officiating, Interment will follow at the Homer Arlington Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday May 2, 2015, from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. Mrs. Greene was born February 27, 1936. She entered into rest April 30, 2015 in Homer, La. following a brief illness. Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Greene; parents, Ernest and Ruth Brown Pixley; and an infant sister, Karen Exie Pixley. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Keene and husband, Jim, and Cara Pugh and husband, Jeff, all of Homer; sons, John Greene of Homer, Jeff Greene and wife, Ramona of San Antonio, TX; sister, Daphne Spigener and husband, W.A. of Homer, LA; brothers, Buddy Pixley and wife, Virginia of Arcadia, LA and Kenneth Pixley and wife, Saundra of Homer, LA; grandchildren, Josh Keene, Mike Greene and wife, Kelly, Virgil Greene, Jeffrey Greene, and Carson and Cason Heard; great-grandchildren, Katy Parker and Cody Greene. Mom had a special affection for her nieces and nephews and they loved her dearly, too. Pallbearers were Waylon Pixley, Marty Lowrey, Gil Garrett, David Greene, Seth Greene and Craig Greene. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Greene and W.A. Spigener.
