Carolyn Hinton Hays

Funeral services for Carolyn Hinton Hays, 73, will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, 610 Haynes Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother Eric Zimmer.

Carolyn Hinton Hays was born on December 27, 1950. She was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. She went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Carolyn attended Warner Park Elementary School, Midway Jr. High School, and Fair Park High School, and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana where she pursued a degree in Speech and Language Pathology. She worked for Caddo Parish Schools for 41 years, changing the lives of numerous children, and she loved each one of them from the bottom of her heart. Her church family was dear to her, and she was active in the choir, LARKS, teaching vacation bible school, Hospitality Committee, and serving in any place she was needed at Haynes Ave. Baptist Church. Carolyn loved flowers, so flowers would be welcomed.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Nannie Mae Spinks Hinton; father, Carl Rushing Hinton; sister, Helen Carlene Hinton and Lawrence Dale Hays. She is survived by her stepson, David Lawrence Hays, whom she faithfully cared for until her illness was prevented.
