Carolyn Jean Richards (Boo)

Carolyn was born on September 1, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the parents of Jeff Lee Peters and Martha (Toby)Peters. She passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Tom and Ralph Peters.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. with services to follow at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Burial will follow the service at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Jerry and Tina Kennedy. Honoring Carolyn as pallbearers will be Randy Peters, Jeffrey Peters, Frank Welzbacher, Lawson Welzbacher, Nicholas Hyatt, and Allen Walker.

Carolyn married the love of her life Barry Richards on March 13, 1976, who affectionally gave her the nickname, “Boo”. They were married 43 years until his death in 2019. Although they never had any children of their own, they loved spending time with their extended family and friends. Around the holidays, you would always find Carolyn in the kitchen cooking a big meal for her family. She enjoyed taking trips to Arkansas and the surrounding area camping or motor cycling with one of the local clubs of which she was a member including Radiant Thunder Motorcycle Ministry, American Bikers Aiming Towards Education, and Kickstands Biker Ministry.

Carolyn is survived by one sister, Betty Welzbacher of Keithville, Louisiana, and a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces, and nephews.
