Carolyn Sue Peace (Shumway)

Carolyn Peace passed away Saturday, January 27,2024 at Willis Knighton Medical Center. She lived her life caring for, raising, and loving her family. She raised her children and numerous grandchildren. She spent the majority of her life with her soul mate, Roy James “Rusty” Peace.  Carolyn and Roy loved vacationing to Galveston, getting salt water taffy, and the beach. Their special date place was Smitty’s Pizza where they would get a Smitty’s special and a nice cold beer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Loraine Shumway, her soulmate, Roy Peace, and her youngest daughter, Cara Peace. She is survived by her children, Dana Lonadier Hartsfield, Lanessa Peace, Cambrie Peace, Cavin Peace, and step-son Brian Peace, grandchildren— Christopher Isbell, Rebecca Hartsfield, Stacia Raudabaugh, Brooklyn Christian, Britanie Anderson, Bree’Anna Anderson, Lawson Welzbacher, Gage Peace, Dalan Ford, Aiden Peace, Landon Peace, and step-granddaughter, Joi Peace, great-grandchildren—Sarah Isbell, John Isbell, Rachael Isbell, Dekodah Raudabaugh, Tamsin Raudabaugh, and Alister Vardeman. May she finally have eternal peace. 

The family extends a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Willis Knighton Medical Center, who provided care and support in the final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of the donors choosing.
