Carter J. Moreau

Services for Mr. Carter Moreau will be held on September 18, 2021 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Plaucheville, Louisiana Rosary and Mass will begin at 11:00 am Visitation starting at 9:00 am until time of service. Mr. Carter Jude Moreau, age 89, of Plaucheville, Louisiana, was born on October 27, 1931 and passed away Friday, July 30, 2021 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was a Korean War veteran that served as a Navy Seabee from 1951-1954. Later, he married Shirley B. Moreau, mother of their three daughters, Marie "Toni" Coburn, Carla June Moreau and Angie Moreau Tassin. In the mid 60's, they owned and operated Carter's Shoe Store across from the courthouse square in Marksville and Mr. Carter managed the dollar store off of main street in Marksville. Beginning in the 70's, over the course of approximately ten years, he traveled to several different countries in Central America on healing mission trips. He also served as the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus with the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, Winnie and Mary Moreau of Plaucheville, Louisiana; two sisters, Patricia Ann Moreau of Plaucheville, Louisiana and Norma Moreau Jeansonne of Cottonport, Louisiana; daughter, Carla June Moreau of Plaucheville, Louisiana; wife, Ruth Aymond Moreau of Cottonport, Louisiana and great-granddaughter, Gracie Desoto of Marksville, Louisiana. He is survived by his two daughters, Marie "Toni" Coburn of Cottonport, Louisiana and Angie Tassin (Chris) of Marksville, Louisiana; brother, Warren Moreau of Alexandria, Louisiana; grandchildren Cory J. Chapman (Amy) of Eunice, Louisiana; Carl J. Chapman (Amie) of Marksville, Louisiana; Erin Lacombe (Dusty) of Hessmer, Louisiana; Ashley Tassin of Longview, TX. and Daniel Tassin of Glasgow, KY.; ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
