Charles "Fred" Burton

Charles "Fred" Burton, to many known as Mailman, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 of cancer. Fred was a lifelong resident of Minden, except for the 6 yrs serving in the Army. He was 75 years young. He was preceded in death by his son Eddie Burton, and father W.P. Burton. Fred is survived by his wife Mona Burton of 48 yrs, daughters LeAnna Owens, husband George, Heather Gregory, husband Kevin son Jason Burton and wife Sheri, daughter Jamie Ryan, mother Ovie Burton, brother Jerry Burton, sister Faye Carter, grandchildren, Megan Owens, Lexi Owens, Jake Owens, Kollin Gregory, Calaen Burton, Kolleen Gregory, Calee Gregory, Logan Burton, Olivia Tate, and Alex Briggs. He retired from the Postal Service with 27 years of service and was with Dixie Mart for 13 years before he became ill. He loved talking with the many "friends" each day. "You are loved and missed by many."
