MANSFIELD, LA--Funeral services honoring the life of Charles Dearman, 90, will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Thumper Miller and Joshua Grimsley officiating. Burial will follow at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 6PM till 9PM.
Charles was born on February 22, 1927 to Charles William Dearman and Harriet Dearman Crouse and entered into rest on October 9, 2017. He served honorably in the Army/Air Force during WWII and the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Dow Chemical Company, enjoyed woodworking, and gardening. Most of all he enjoyed his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Malloy, Jack, Tim, Fred and Billy Dearman; and his sisters, Irma Dearman, Virgie Rascoe, Katherine Wixen, Helen Besselman, and Hettie Alford.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Rena Hale Dearman; his daughters, Ellen Dearman (Billy) Thorpe of Karnack, TX, and Charlene Dearman (Rick) Grimsley of Catuna, LA; grandchildren, Andrew (Brandi) Johnson of Wolfe City, TX, Joshua (Noelle) Grimsley of Ponchatoula, LA, Ashley (Kellen) McInnis of Stonewall, LA, Michelle (Trent) Graves of Conroe, TX, Bill (Dawn) Thorpe of Peoria, AZ, and Jason Thorpe of Lake Charles, LA; seven great grandchildren; and his sisters-in-law, Jo Dearman of Logansport, LA and Pauline Dearman of Freeport, TX.
Honoring the life of Charles as pallbearers will be his nephews, Sam Alford, Fred Alford, Britt Dearman, Bill Dearman, Scott Dearman, and Chuck Rascoe.
