Charles Wayne Dietrich

A graveside service for Charles Wayne Dietrich, 79, will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Fern Park Cemetery, 1560 Grace Ave., Natchitoches, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be his nephew, Nathan Scarborough.

Charles was born on August 29, 1943 to Julius L. Dietrich and Rebecca W. Cotton Dietrich in Natchitoches, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in Shreveport.

Charles was a resident of Keithville. He was a tool and die maker by trade. He married the love of his life, Gloria Dietrich, on July 14, 1966. They were married for 56 wonderful years. He loved to hunt and fish and was a dedicated family man. Charles was considered by many to be as close to a “perfect” person as humanly possible. He was a Navy veteran where he served for four years as a Submariner Machinist Mate, 3^rd Class on the USS Archerfish. He was an avid gardener and was known for honey he harvested himself as a beekeeper.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Dietrich; and daughter, Rebecca M. Perdue. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gloria Dietrich; daughter, Patricia Dietrich; brother, Marion Dietrich; sister, Alice Faye Bagley; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Charles as pallbearers will be Marion Dietrich, Steve Mitchell, Travis Mitchell, James Tabor, Chris Howard and Nathan Scarborough. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bill Saddler, Bill Harper and Carl Sanchez.

The family will forever love and cherish his memory.
