Oil City, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Charles "Dugan" Dupree, age 81 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA. Officiating the services will be Rev. Bill Lott, pastor of Ferry Lake Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Oil City, LA. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dugan was born on June 3, 1936 in Shreveport, LA. to Gordon and Essie Lee Dupree and passed away on October 6, 2017 at Willis-Knighton Pierremont , Shreveport, LA. He was a tool pusher in the oilfield and longtime member and deacon at Ferry Lake Baptist. Dugan loved going camping. listening to any kind of music and spending time with his family and grandkids.
Dugan is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Essie Lee Dupree and his brother, Donald Ray Dupree. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 63 years, Henrietta Dupree of Oil City, LA; three sons, Randy and wife, Tara of Oil City, LA., Chuck and wife, Lisa of Shreveport, LA and Michael of Oil City, LA; one daughter, Christine Young and husband, James of Shreveport, LA.; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Dugan is also survived by his siblings, Louise Kent of Cloutierville, LA., Gracie Peace of Jefferson, TX, Kathy Little of Mooringsport, LA, Douglas Dupree of Atlanta, TX and Larry Dupree and wife, Sue of Oil City, LA.
Honoring Dugan as pallbearers will be Cody Young, Shane Dupree, Sebastian Cranford, Andrew Dupree, Chris Johnson and Matthew Hefner.
