A celebration of life service for Charles “Chuck” Pratt will be held on Friday, June 28th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Broadmoor Baptist Church, 4110 Youree Drive in Shreveport, LA. A visitation will be held immediately preceding the service at 10:30 a.m. Officiating the service will be Herb Armentrout.

Chuck passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his savior, Jesus, on June 23rd, 2024, surrounded by his family in Shreveport, LA. He was born on May 19th, 1938, in St. Paul, MN – the second of five siblings born to Elizabeth Kinsel Pratt and Charles Howard Pratt, Sr.

After marrying his high school sweetheart and wife of sixty-four years, Barbara Doreen Blaisdell, he graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1961 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. For the next thirty years, he worked in the Petrochemical Industry. After spending nine years in New Jersey, he was transferred to Lake Charles, LA where he lived until moving to Shreveport last year.

Chuck was a devoted follower of Christ and member of Trinity Baptist Church for over thirty years. He was at his happiest singing in the choir, studying the Word with his Sunday school class, and serving at VBS and anywhere else the opportunity arose. After retiring at the young age of fifty-nine, Chuck was blessed to experience adventures and travel the world with his wife, Barbara, and his friends and family. He also became a devoted grandfather – showing up to all the special events in his grandchildren’s lives. In addition, Chuck and Barbara served for ten years as CASA advocates – touching the lives of children in the foster care system.

Chuck deeply loved his family and many friends and was always available to lend his expertise as a handyman to anyone who asked or needed him. He lived a full and successful life because he lived it fully surrendered to God!

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, an infant grandchild–Alyssa Prine, and an infant great-grandchild – Robert Jace Holstead. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his children – Linda Pratt Pope (Bart), Amy Pratt Prine (Jeff), and Stacy Pratt Collins (Darren), his nine grandchildren – Matthew Pope (Holly), Julie Pope Holstead (Dylan), Karie Pope McEntire (Caleb), Caitlyn Prine Cornwell (Shon), Leah Prine McIntosh (Addison), Halle Prine, Tucker Collins (Anna Kay), Taylor Collins Cook (Abram), and Tanner Collins (McKenzie), and eight great-grandchildren. Chuck is also survived by his siblings – Mary Pratt Bichner (Jack), Richard Pratt (Chris), Cynthia Pratt Woods (Robert), and Carole Pratt Gerber (David).
