SHREVEPORT, LA - A Celebration of life service for Charles "Charlie" Landry will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Shreveport Community Church, 5720 Buncombe Road, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Denny Duron and Pastor Brian Opbroek. Interment will follow at Forest Park West. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
Charlie was born May 29, 1944 in Bay City, Texas and passed away on April 7, 2017. He was a resident of Shreveport, LA, where he built his life and raised his family. He owned and built his own business, Control Systems Company of Louisiana. Charlie was an avid joke teller and famous for his "Shrimp Gumbo". His memorable Cajun character was loved by all of his many friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Cecille; brothers, Ernest, Leroy and Billie Landry; sisters-in-law, Melba, Gladys and Jan Landry; son, Jeff Buckman; and niece, Pam Landry. Those left to cherish Charlie's memory are his loving wife, Mary; brother, Joe Landry; sister-in-law Sharon; sons, Mark Landry and wife, Ginger, Brad Buckman and wife, Shellie, Duane Buckman and Joseph (Jody) Buckman; daughters, Julie Hernandez and husband, Tino, Claudia Whitmeyer Ross and Caryn Whitmeyer Roland; adoring grandchildren, Gunner, Nova, David, Destiny, Blaire, Blake, Brooke, Jessica, Dane, Mary-Michelle, Haley, Caroline, Carter and Cameron; great-grandson, Aiden; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Honoring Charlie as pallbearers will be Eric LeBlanc, Rusty Reeves, Harry Swank, Mark Faust, Norm Ahearn, Bill Gordon and Rick Nichols.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Pipes, Dan Tilton, Ed Denmon, Elvis Moore, and David Norcross.
