Charles William Sartori, Sr.
On December 13, 2015, Charles William Sartori, Sr. left his family and friends to be with the Lord. However, the memory of this kind and gentle man will remain with us. Bill's love of life, adventure and a good story, his devotion and generosity to family and God, and his integrity, strong work ethic, humility and quiet intelligence was an example to all who knew and loved him.
Bill Sartori, 87, was born on June 3, 1928 to Frank Paul Sartori, Sr. and Ethel Cobb Sartori. He attended St. Vincent's elementary school, St. John's High School and was valedictorian of his graduating class at Loyola University in New Orleans in 1950 earning a Bachelor of Business Administration. After working with Texas Eastern Transmission and following his service in the United States Air Force at the time of the Korean War, he entered the family business, Commercial Body Works, Inc. He and his brother, Paul Sartori, later opened Commercial Frame and Alignment. He was active in both businesses until his retirement, at which time he enjoyed family, friends and travel. He loved learning, new experiences and the occasional poker game with old friends.
He is survived by the wife that he loved so much, Marie Meleton Sartori , his children, Danette Sartori Jurgens and Charles William Sartori, Jr., son-in-law Roger Jurgens, daughter-in-law Michelle Sartori, his beloved grandchildren Taylor and Julia Sartori, brother, Frank Paul Sartori, Jr., sister, Mary Sartori Koch and brother-in-law, Raymond Koch, sisters-in-law Tillie Meleton, Barbara Meleton Kirchner, Anne Meleton as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Life Care Hospital for their attentive, kind and professional care of our cherished Bill.
A visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Marshall Street on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 4:00 p.m until 6:00 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Berchman Cathedral.
