Charles H. Stark

BOSSIER CITY, LA - A memorial service for Charles Henry Stark, 74, will 3:30 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Bill McConathy of Simple Church. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Charles was born December 30, 1939 in Flushing, NY to Harold and Marjorie Stark and passed away November 1, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. He served his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he spent over 30 years in insurance and investments. Charles had a Bachelor of Arts Degree and General Studies Degree from the University of Nebraska and a M.B.A. Degree from the University of Missouri. Charles was an Account Executive with Colonial Life, a Past Director on the Board of the Shreveport Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, a member of the Association of M.B.A.s; the Military Officers Association of America; the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Posse and the Krewe of Centaur. He was an Assistant Scout Master and a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America from 1976-1984 and a member of the Barksdale AFB Chapel, where he was a Lay Reader, Usher, and past Vice President of the Protestant Men of the Chapel. His parents, Harold and Marjorie Stark, his brother, Robert Stark and a son, John Stark, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sally Stark of Bossier City, LA; sons, Anthony Stark of Bossier City, LA, Keith Stark and wife, Krista of Denham Springs, LA; daughters, Linda Bobo and husband, Billy of Nacogdoches, TX, Ann Penot and husband, Tim of Covington, LA; brothers, Kenneth Stark of Brevard, NC, Albert Stark of Julian, CA; sisters, Lenore Clark of N. Berwick, ME, Marjorie Stark of Beverly, MA, stepsister, Lidia Good of Central City, KY and grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachary Stark, Timothy, Alec and Tristan Penot, and Parker and Kaitlin Bobo, plus many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Roy Fleniken and the staff of the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home for their loving care over the last 18 months. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home or the American Cancer Society.
