Chase McQueen Hardesty, 40, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his home in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi. He was born on March 16, 1983, in Shreveport Louisiana, to Lisa McQueen Hardesty and the late Douglas Dean Hardesty.
Raised in Shreveport, Chase graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 2001 and later pursued his education at Louisiana Tech University. As a youth, he was an active member of First Baptist Church and the youth choir. Chase’s passion for boating, water skiing and jet skiing on the local lakes and rivers with family and friends brought him immense joy. Most of all he loved to be with his daughter and being around his best buddies. Chase had a unique style, reminiscent of an old hippie, and his eclectic taste in music mirrored his zest for life. He had a lifetime of adventures and stories, many of which would be better left untold.
In his formative years, Chase held various jobs in Shreveport before relocating to New Orleans with his wife. There, he immersed himself in the vibrant culture of the Big Easy and became an avid supporter of the Saints. His career as a Field Tech working for various oil & gas and pipeline companies took him to the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico.
However, it was the birth of his daughter, Liv Louise, the love of his life and “daddy’s little princess” that brought him the most happiness and joy. May his vibrant spirit and deep connections live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Chase was preceded in death by his father Douglas Dean Hardesty, grandparents Henry and Joy McQueen, Nita McQueen Rhoades, Frank and Mary Hardesty and his brother Shaun Hardesty. He is survived by his daughter Liv Louise Hardesty, his mother Lisa McQueen Rogers and husband Thomas Rogers, his sister Chastain Pohl Chamberlain (Adam), sister Dawne Hardesty Franklin (Ted), sister-in-law Allison Hardesty, his former wife, Margie Planchard Hardesty mother of Liv Louise, his aunt and uncle Kathrine and Jeff Crain, and a special friend, Ashley Atwell and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Serving Chase Hardesty as honorary pallbearers are Eric Dean, Bill Furlong, James Pendley, Matt Snyder, Walter Schmidt.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Following the service, a Celebration of Life to be held immediately after at a location to be announced.
