Shreveport, LA- A funeral service for Chester "Pa" Mills, 88, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Shreveport Community Church. Officiating will be Reverend George Bloomingdale and Reverend Brian Opbroek. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside. Chester was born on October 29, 1926 to Henry and Flora Mills in Besoco, WV. He passed away on March 19, 2015 surrounded by his wife and children. He was a member of Shreveport Community Church. Chester proudly served his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a bus driver for Continental Trailways for 39 years. Chester won the two million miles safety award in recognition of his safe driving without an accident. He enjoyed gardening, solving puzzles, and traveling with his family. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Henry B. Mills, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doretta Mills, son, Chester Russ Mills, and wife, Melanie, daughters, Joni Mills O'Bleness, and husband, Robert "Bob", and Jan Mills Reedy, and husband, Denny, grandchildren, Heather O'Bleness Wallis, and husband, Eric, Courtney O'Bleness, Ranie Mills Sosa, and husband, Julio, Sarah Mills Strickland, and husband, Allen, Emma Claire Mills, Reid Mills, Brooke Reedy, Austin Reedy, Braxton Reedy, Brock Reedy, great grandchildren, Ethan and Jake Wallis, Addie Sosa, and Aubrey Strickland. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Rusty Mills, Bob O'Bleness, Denny Reedy, Austin Reedy, John Sandifer and Lowell Shoemaker. Rose-Neath Southside 2500 Southside Drive 318-687-1256
