Christine McDowell Ragsdale

SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Christine McDowell Ragsdale, 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery in Shreveport. Rev. Mark Bray will officiate. Christine was born on August 23, 1925 in Jamestown, LA to one of the pioneering families of Bienville Parish, Otis and Alma McDowell, and passed away on January 5, 2016. Christine was a long time member of Summer Grove Methodist Church. She was a very hard working woman and a wonderful, loving wife and mother. Preceding Christine in death are her parents and her husband of 43 years, Claude Wesley Ragsdale, Sr. Those left to cherish her memory are sons, James Ragsdale and wife, Pam, and Claude Ragsdale, Jr. and wife, Martha; daughters, Christine Buckhalter and Claudia Little and husband, Jay. 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. The family would like to say a special thanks to Live Oak Retirement Community and Summer Grove Methodist Church for all the care and support they gave to Christine.
