Christopher "Chris" T. Sharpley

GRAND CANE, LA - Funeral Services for Christopher "Chris" T. Sharpley, 48, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Chris was born August 22, 1968 in Shreveport to Clinton Sharpley, Jr. and Paula Suzanne Killian Sharpley, and passed away suddenly on April 20, 2017. Chris was a Deputy for the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office for 12 years. He loved his family and was so very proud of his children. Chris loved riding his Harley with his group BACA. He loved to make people laugh, and was a giving person that he would give you the shirt off his back. Chris acted so tough but when it came to his family, he was a softy. He was always there to listen and lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Sue Killian; grandfather, Clinton Sharpley, Sr.; uncle, Eugene Tyson; and father-in-law, Hans-Juergen Dunkel. Those left to cherish Chris' memory are his parents, Clinton Sharpley, Jr. and Suzanne Sharpley; his loving wife of 14 years, Stephanie Dunkel Sharpley; daughters, Amber Lynn Sharpley, Courtney M. Sharpley, and Melanie Nicole Sharpley; step-son, Joel Michael Lewis; sister, Marla Sharpley-Golden and husband, Scott; along with nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Chris will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Honoring Chris as pallbearers will be Danny Rogers, Scott Atkins, Dennis Reed, Jason Richards Charles Rutledge, and Van Woodley. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brian Hartley, Tracy Jenkins, Danny Avery, Brierre Thomas, Scott Golden, and Lt. Donny Barber. An account has been set up at Citizens National Bank to help with funeral expenses.
