Cindy D. Monroe

SHREVEPORT, LA - Cynthia "Cindy" Deanne Monroe, 47, peacefully passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Nathan Davis will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Cindy was so much more than just my wife, and the mother of our sons, she was my partner both in business and in life and a true friend. She had a burning passion for her business, but her greatest attribute, was the love she had for her sons and husband. Being that she lost her mother at a young age, she did not take life for granted, friends and family included. The creed she lived by was simple but thought provoking; "Integrity - is something you do - when no one else is watching." Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Gray, mother Patsy Monkhouse Gray, and brother Johnny Gray. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Brian Monroe; her loving sons, Dalton and Colton Monroe; brother, Charles Monkhouse; sisters, Tommie Gray and Lindsey Fizer; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring Cindy as pallbearers will be T-Sam White, Olu Ogunyemi, Skipper Hayes, Dalton Monroe, Rick Malmstrom, and Joey Presley. The family would like to say a special thanks to the nursing staff at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Hospital, 5th floor ICU for all the love, support and care you gave to Cindy and her family. "She was a nurse, counselor, teacher, and a loving mother to me and my younger brother. She carried us through the dark hopeless days when we could not smile. Day in and day out she helped us in everyday life. She will still carry us through the days just holding a different position in better health. It is only temporary separation in a harsh, divided world, but she will always be close in my heart." Love, Dalton "Dear Mom, the past couple of days have been rough without you. But I know your no longer suffering or in pain. My quote for all this is, "When Heaven gains theres no more pain." Meaning; once you finish the race, you will no longer have pain. I miss and love you mom." Love, Colton I love you with all my heart and soul, Love you Babe, & I'll see you later, Love, Brian! Cindy's reply: "Love you more"
