C.L. Brazzel

ATHENS, LA: Graveside services were held for Mr. C. L. "Sonny" Brazzel, 92, at Salem Cemetery in Athens, LA, on Thursday, February 5, at 11:00 A.M. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home at 405 East 5th street in Homer, LA, on Wednesday from 5-7 P.M. Mr. Brazzel was born in Hico, LA, on January 12, 1923, to Fredrick Lee and Benson Campbell Brazzel. He entered into rest on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Minden Medical Center. Mr. Brazzel served his country in the U. S. Army as a Drill Sergeant. Then, ran his own business as a water well contractor. Mr. Brazzel was a great story teller and loved laughing, talking and visiting with others. Mr. Brazzel was known as "Paw" to his grandchildren whom he adored. Mr. Brazzel was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Frances Charping Brazzel; two brothers, James Brazzel and Lamar Brazzel. He is survived by four sons, Steve Brazzel of Athens, LA, David Brazzel and Janet of Taylor, AR, Joe Brazzel and Jeanine of Homer, LA, and Adam Brazzel and Angie of Weldon, LA; a daughter, Marcia Brazzel of Ruston, LA; a sister, Nelda Barnett of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren, Sylvia, Chris, Matt, Daniel and Cassidy; two great grandson, Jackson and Huxton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

For friends considering memorials to Mr. Brazzel, his family suggests the St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
