Clara Mae Procell Lee, beloved mother to seven children, walked into the arms of our Lord and Savior at the blessed age of 99 at her residence in Shreveport, Louisiana surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and love.
Clara was born in Zwolle, LA in 1925 to John Procell “BUCK” and Selina Rivers Crawford, (and another mother, Nancy Rivers Procell). Clara worked hard all her life sharing her love for cooking and her nurturing with many. Clara was a devoted mother, grandmother (Maw Maw), great-grandmother as far as a great-great-great grandmother, (best grandma), sister, and friend. Clara was known by many for her famous hot tamales, and just her cooking in general. There’s never been a time when anyone has walked into her home and there has not been a full course meal cooked. You better have a seat and eat because you aren’t walking out that door without having a bite to eat. Clara had a nurturing heart for animals of all kinds.
Clara is preceded in death by her father, John Procell “BUCK”, mother, Selina Rivers Crawford, another mother, Nancy Rivers Procell, brothers and sisters, Frank, Floyd, Ruth, Ruby, Andrew, Ed, Clayton, Bertha, Lina, Selina, Annie, Clarence and Abram; children, Judy Silas, James Silas, Jr., Herman Silas “PETE”, and Julie Silas Cobb.
