Funeral services for Clarence L McDearmont, 92, will be held 12 noon Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive. Interment will follow at Forest Park East, St. Vincent Avenue. Officiating will be Bro. Larry Tucker. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the funeral home. Clarence L McDearmont died October 12, 2014 of heart failure. He was born March 22, 1922 in Harmon, Louisiana. He was the 4th of 11 children. He served as sergeant in the US Army during WWII in the Aleutian Islands and the Pacific theater. In 1946 he returned from the war and married Gloria McDearmont, his wife of almost 65 years. He worked 38 years at Riley Beaird retiring as a production supervisor in 1984. His retirement was spent with his family. He provided nonstop care to his wife for the final years of her life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Florence Kelly McDearmont, his wife Gloria McDearmont, brothers William, Charlie, and Richard, and sisters Mary, Katie, and Ruth. He is survived by his brothers Tommy and Frank McDearmont and sisters Virginia Mayeux and Valeria Mitchell. He is also survived by his son and daughter- in- law David and Barbara McDearmont, daughter and son- in- law Suzanne and Mike Faircloth, grandson Scott McDearmont, his wife DeAnna McDearmont, granddaughter Kelley McDearmont, her husband Ronnie Roden and great- grandchildren Ryan McDearmont, Britney Roden, Kaitlyn McDearmont and Bailey Roden.
