STONEWALL, LA - Funeral services for Claude Wesley DuHamel, 88, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Stonewall Cemetery in Stonewall, LA. Rev. Leonard Lindsay and Rev. Jose Montalvo will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the funeral home.
Claude was born on April 30, 1927 in Bemidji, MN to Glenn DuHamel and Electa St. Peter DuHamel and passed away on February 11, 2016. Claude enjoyed working in the yard, feeding the wild birds, but loved spending time with his family. He was a hardworking man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Claude in death were his parents, his granddaughter, Katherin Johniken, son-in-law Rickey Johniken, seven sisters and 3 brothers. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 69 years and 3 months, Maggie Horton DuHamel; son, John Michael DuHamel and wife, Donna; daughters, Brenda Lindsay and husband, Leonard, Electa Sue Johniken, and Patricia Greco and husband, Ronnie; along with 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Honoring Claude as pallbearers will be Wayne Fox, Codie Lindsay, Jason Lindsay, Ryan Greco, Scott Beason, and Keith Milam.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Johniken, Jonathan Lindsay, Ethan Adams, Isaac Fox, and Kenny Gilbert.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Tammy and Dorothy with Christus Schumpert Home Health, and Mr. Plunkett and Angela with Christus Schumpert Hospice for all the love, care and support they gave to Claude.
