Claude Anthony Tait , M.D. died November 23, 2017 at The Cottages of The Glen, Shreveport, LA.
Claude was born March 25, 1927 in Mukden, China to Ida Barbara Dittli and Cushing Tait. Arriving in the US during WWII from Germany, he finished high school then medical school at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Claude did residencies in surgery and anesthesia at the University of North Carolina's medical school at Chapel Hill and in 1957 relocated to Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport where he remained until retirement in 1987.
Claude's pastimes included reading, swimming, clock repair and writing scholarly papers. He served as president of the Shreveport Summer Music Festival and also as president of The Tarshar Society. In retirement he was part of a group of savvy seniors who met regularly for coffee, lunch, stories and a lot of laughs.
Claude is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Hsiauhua Wang and eldest daughter Allison Tait. He is survived by wife Caroline, daughters Victoria Severns (Bob) of Burleson, TX, Mandy Gorham (Richard) of Shreveport, LA and Jennifer Kippie (Kevin) of Prattville, AL, six grand children and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his beloved sister Maria Huber-Wang, nieces Mia Salmone (Santino) and Ursi Eichenberger (Ueli) and great nieces, Manuela and Sarah, in Switzerland.

An informal gathering presided over by Mr. Stan Hays to memorialize Claude will be held November 30, 2017 at 10:30AM in the Cooper Chapel at The Glen Retirement Center 403 E. Flournoy Lucas, Shreveport, LA 71115.
Honorary pallbearers are: Mr. Johnny Peppers, Mr. Harrison Ralph, Dr. Fred Price, Mr. Donnie Tuminello, Dr. John Berry, Mr. George Head.
