On Sunday, October 3, 1944, the most beautiful soul was born, Claudette Delores Thomas-Brister Digilormo. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and lived most of her life in Benton, Louisiana, and Bossier City, Louisiana.
Claudette lived her entire life for Jesus, her witness evident on a daily basis. She was generous, kind, fair, and loving to every single person she knew. Her family was showered with her love, and she made sure each one of us knew this with her magical way of making each of us feel special to her.
She is preceded in her journey to Heaven by her son, Michael “Dude” Nix; daughter, Cindy Rachele Nix; grandson, James Walter Nix, and brothers, Bobby McElhannon and Dale Thomas, Jr.
Left to carry on her legacy until we join her in Glory, her adoring husband, Dominick Digilormo; beloved children, Kim “Lovie” Howell, Michael Howell, Jimmy Nix, Lisa Nix, John Digilormo, Leah Digilormo, Michael Digilormo, Tina Digilormo, Frankie Digilormo, Amy Digilormo, and Lisa Digilormo; brother, Kenny Thomas and wife, Marilyn; sister, Kathy Wright and husband, David, and sister-in-law, Billie Thomas.
Her abundantly loved grandchildren, Menda, Cale (Abby), JoBeth (Jeremy), Jeston, Reeves, Chloe, Rachel, Dylan, Jamie, Luke, Logan, Matthew, Andy, Jude, Nicholas, Michaela, Devin, Deanna, and Savannah. 22 great-grandchildren, friends, and family who were abundantly loved & extremely special to her.
Her family is forever grateful to her friends and sitters, Carolyn Word, Avril Stephens, and Passages Hospice who laughed with her and gave her the very best care.
In lieu of flowers, Mom would love for you to donate to her favorite charity St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She gave to them monthly for as long as any of us can remember. In memory of our Grandma, Nanny, Nan, Nina, Angel on Earth, do something kind for someone, go cheer at their ballgame, their play, buy those books at the book fair, take them to the movie, sing at the top of your lungs, tip your Sonic carhop more than your drink even costs, laugh with them, speak life and love.
