HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mrs. Claudia Gail Duckworth, age 74, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA, on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Lance Sims, officiated. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA. The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service.Mrs. Duckworth was born on November 3, 1945, at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, LA, to Dr. Claude H. and Frances V. Torbet. She entered into rest on Friday, October 16, 2020, at her home in Homer, LA. Mrs. Duckworth was a graduate of Homer High School and Louisiana Tech University. Mrs. Duckworth worked for and retired from the Claiborne Parish School Board as a Special Education Teacher. In 2005, she met a wonderful and generous man, Tommy Duckworth, who was devoted to making her happy. She enjoyed cooking and making memories with her family. Mrs. Duckworth touched many childrens' lives during her time as a teacher and will be dearly missed.Mrs. Duckworth was preceded in death by her parents and husband of almost thirteen years, Tommy Lee Duckworth.She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Penix and husband Greg of Athens, LA; son, Scott Simpson and wife Alice of Madison, AL; step-daughter, Renee Sims and husband Richard of Diana, TX; step-son, Mike Duckworth and wife Cindy of Longview, TX; two sisters, Pam Smith and husband Timothy of Grapevine, TX and Sharon Turley of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Preston Simpson and wife Hannah, Peyton Simpson, Jacob Lonon, and Ragan Penix; a great-granddaughter, Harper Simpson; along with a nephew, numerous nieces, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Preston Simpson, Peyton Simpson, Josh Sims, and Lance Sims.
